Majlis Broadcasting FAQs

A way that may work to circumvent problems is to take the URL of the archive audio link and paste it directly into the Windows Media Player. If you want to listen live, try to download this file: http://www.khanqah.org/misc/majlis.asx which may help you receive the stream.

Alternately you can try opening mms://wm12.spacialnet.com/khaashrafia106124 in your browser.

Q. How to listen majlis broadcast in audio players other than Media Player?

A. Some people have reported an issue that media player 11 is somewhat converted to "Paid Service" when listening internet audio broadcast.

To listen in JetAudio or other players, download ASX file from http://www.khanqah.org/majalis/player/asx

Run JetAudio, and click on 'Open' button, then select the downloaded file. This will play the broadcasted content in JetAudio.

Q. My computer has Windows installed on it. However, I cannot get the stream to play. Can you help?

A. You might not have a correct version of Windows Media Player installed. Microsoft's Media Player is Version 10. Depending on which version of Windows you are running, you should upgrade to either Version 9 or Version 10. You can determine your Windows Media Player version by starting the player from the Windows "Start" button, and then clicking Windows Media Player from the program listing. Then click "Help" and "About" from the menu.

A. The Internet Broadcast does support certain versions of Windows Media Player v6.4 although we would recommend upgrading to v9 if at all possible (this is currently not possible for Windows 95 and Windows NT users).
